Apr 08,2025In recent years, nonwoven fabrics have been widely used in many fields such as medical, health, construction, automobile, and environmental protection due to their unique performance advantages. Unlike traditional textile processes, nonwoven fabrics directly make fibers into a web by mechanical, thermal bonding or chemical means, without spinning and weaving, so the production efficiency is higher, the cost is lower, and it can achieve diversified functions. The core of all this is inseparable from the technological progress of the Nonwoven Fabric machine.
There are many production processes for nonwoven fabrics, mainly including spunbond, meltblown, spunlace, needle punching, thermal bonding, etc. Different processes determine the structure and function of the equipment.
1. Spunbond equipment
Spunbond is one of the most widely used nonwoven fabric production technologies at present, and its equipment mainly includes:
Extruder: melts polymers (such as PP, PET) and extrude them into fibers.
Spinning system: Fibers are stretched through high-speed airflow to form continuous filaments.
Web forming machine: The fibers are evenly laid on the conveyor belt to form a fiber web.
Hot rolling machine: The fibers are bonded through hot pressing to enhance the strength of the material.
Application areas: medical protective clothing, agricultural covering materials, geotextiles, etc.
2. Meltblown equipment
The meltblown method is known for its ultra-fine fibers and is the core technology for producing high-efficiency filter materials (such as meltblown cloth for masks). Its key equipment includes:
High-temperature meltblown die head: The molten polymer is extruded through extremely fine nozzles and stretched into micron-sized fibers with high-speed hot air.
Receiving device: The fibers are randomly stacked into a web to form a material with high filtration efficiency.
Application areas: N95 masks, air filters, liquid adsorbent materials, etc.
3. Spunlace equipment
Spunlace uses high-pressure water needles to entangle fibers. The product is soft and breathable, suitable for high-end sanitary products. The main equipment includes:
Hydraulic head system: impacts the fiber web with ultra-high pressure water column to make it entangled and reinforced.
Drying system: removes moisture and improves material stability.
Application areas: wet wipes, medical dressings, high-end wipes, etc.
4. Needle Punching Equipment
Needle punching repeatedly punctures the fiber web with barbed needles to mechanically reinforce it. The core of the equipment includes:
Needle punching machine: needles moving up and down at high speed entangle the fibers.
Pre-needling and main needling system: enhance material density and strength in stages.
Application areas: carpet base fabrics, automotive interiors, filter materials, etc.
With the global demand for environmental protection and efficient production, non-woven fabric equipment is developing towards intelligence, energy saving and multi-functionality.
Automated control system: PLC and AI algorithms are used to optimize production parameters and reduce manual intervention.
Online quality detection: visual sensors are used to monitor product uniformity, gram weight and other indicators in real time to ensure consistency.
Processing of degradable materials: Equipment needs to adapt to the processing needs of bio-based materials such as PLA (polylactic acid) and PBAT.
Energy-saving design: such as heat recovery system, low-energy motor, etc., to reduce carbon emissions.
Multifunctional composite production line
Spunbond-meltblown-spunbond (SMS) equipment: Combining the strength of spunbond fabric and the high filterability of meltblown fabric, it is widely used in medical protective materials.
Spunlace + finishing integrated equipment: Increase product added value, such as antibacterial, flame retardant and other functional finishing.
As a key equipment in modern manufacturing, the technological progress of Nonwoven Fabric machine directly promotes the innovation of downstream industries. Whether it is to respond to public health emergencies (such as the surge in demand for masks) or to meet the new trend of environmentally friendly materials, efficient, intelligent and sustainable equipment will be the core of future competition.
